Okay so I have been writing a lot lately for a bunch of different things. But I never have enough alone time to really get things finished, and then I get my writing!ADD going and I start a different project. BUT NOW!!! Now...

I am at my brother's house, in the middle of nowhere, isolated, and very soon to be alone. I am dog-and-house-sitting while my brother and his wife travel to Florida for her baby shower with her side of the family. I have their very nice computer all to myself for days and days. Dead silence but the panting of cute doggies.

So I should be publishing a good handful of things in the next couple of weeks.

If I don't, you'll know I wasted the week replaying Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on my brother's Wii. >___>

PREVIEWS AHOY! Some of the stuff I am working on:

1. where he can be found, chapter three  ( Tiger & Bunny )
Errr, it's been a while. L-lol. But if it's any consolation, uh, 80% of the fic has gone through my first stage of outlining and about 50% of that has gone through my second stage of detailing. :P

It's as he's riding to the scene, suited and alone, that Barnaby feels his world begin again to shift. It's an instinctive thing, like knowing you should look over your shoulder in a dark alleyway, but the brain interferes and your fear keeps you from examining any further the prickling along your neck.

His first thought upon arrival, mirrored and vocalized by Origami Cyclone is-- "Lunatic!"

Flaring on the street here and there are small fires of familiar blue and green; flower stalls and newspapers and hats abandoned and burning in the street, but thankfully none of the civilians running past are screaming. Barnaby immediately sets to search for the perpetrator, while above the announcer cries, "But what's this? Such a dangerous power, and yet there are no reports of injured citizens? What is this mysterious NEXT after?"

Barnaby is so focused on trying to find the bright colors of Lunatic's cloak that he looks the girl completely over. For it, he gets a sudden, startling vision-full of fire. His first instinct is to fall back and slap it away from his face before he realizes it isn't getting through the armor. He hears Rock Bison laugh derisively. "She scare you, Barnaby?"

In the following instance, in which Barnaby's field of vision clears and the announcer yells that the perpetrator has been spotted and Rock Bison takes the first steps of a charge at the enemy-- then he makes eye contact with her:

She is a teenager, and she wants to kills him. He can see it in her big, blazing brown eyes. The blue fire snaking around her body does not burn half so bright as that hateful spite, the glint of bared teeth, the sparkle of angry tears gathering. Her brown hair flies from her forehead, her clothes whip in the gust of activity, her hand, full of fire, reaches for them, and she stands alone in the midst. She makes eye contact only with Barnaby. Wears this expression only for Barnaby. She wants to kill him.

2. Bonjour, Zero! ( Tiger & Bunny + Code Geass )
this preview was originally written for [livejournal.com profile] yinake, who just wanted to see some Suzaku, but it never got finished. Also, this scene does not take place in chapter two. :P

Kotetsu observes the young man across from him and the young man politely looks away, studying his napkins with bland deference. Suzaku Kururugi, as this one is called, asks Kotetsu to order first. Kotetsu orders tea; Suzaku orders water, just water. The waitress backs away, ducking a camera but bumping into the mic.

A long silence then settles as dust. One of the crew coughs loudly enough that, already discomfited, Kotetsu jumps in his seat. Suzaku, on the other hand, is undisturbed by this and merely folds his gloved hands in his lap.

Kotetsu makes a note to complain to anyone who will listen later about how he always gets shunted with these young, brooding, angsty types. It's unfair and he should receive compensation.

"So," Kotetsu starts with a painfully obvious smile, "where'd you grow up?"

Suzaku looks up at him and gives the vaguest, smallest smile possible that would still convey sympathy. "Excuse me," the young man asks quietly of the director, "would the show be terribly interested in my childhood?"

Mario replies, "Sure would. Especially since you come from a different city-- you should say something interesting but relatable."

The boy makes a tiny grimace and Kotetsu responds with a tiny grin. They have something in common after all.

"So, where'd you grow up?" he repeats.

"Japan," Suzaku says. Kotetsu is taken aback-- he feels somehow less legit as a second generation speaking to a first generation much younger than him. Suzaku's eyes flicker briefly to the cameras before he continues, "I came here when I was pretty young."

"I bet it was hard," Kotetsu says with a newfound respect; he remembers the stories of his mother's transition.

"No," Suzaku murmurs. His polite smile falls. "It was not so hard. I had a job to fulfill, at least."

3. Necropolis rewrite ( Hikaru no Go )
Why do I always write Shindo as being so self-destructive? I am so stupid. I need to write something more in-character one day as opposed to all this older!Shindo speculation.

By the time he is twenty-five, Shindo is taking a double dose of medication for high blood pressure. This is because there are a handful of things that Shindo likes as much as or more than go: drinking, smoking, gambling, driving really fast, going on thrill rides, and Touya Akira.

Isumi isn't really sure when most of these things started, and he doesn't know how many other things Shindo likes to do that maybe he shouldn't, but each and every one of them turn a little dangerous separately, and together land him in the emergency room on one tense night in December. Shindo doesn't die; doesn't have a heart attack; doesn't even stay overnight as far as Isumi knows. But then, what does he or anyone else really know about Shindo? When Shindo opens his mouth, it is either go or something unimportant. His secrets are kept in the lines of the board, and as he is unbeatable so his secrets are unfathomable.

When they were all kids, the explanation was that Shindo was weird. When they started getting older, he was 'a flake', or so Waya settled the matter. Then at some point someone dared to use the word mysterious and it stuck something like gum under the desk: hidden, uncomfortable-- and much rather would they all take the scratching on the tabletop for truth-- "Shindo is a weirdo" --but every now and then one of them would dip their fingers into the underside words: "Shindo is mysterious".

Shindo's boyish charm and their own professional propriety only staved the word off for so long. Eventually they could no longer say that he was dangerous because all boys are dangerous, because he was no longer a boy but a man. They could not say that he was weird because they needed more time with him, because ten years of friendship stretched that explanation too thinly. Isumi settled; Waya settled; Honda and Ochi and Nase, they all settled. Not Shindo. Isumi got a wife; Waya got a home; Nase got kids and Ochi got students and Honda got a girlfriend. Not Shindo. Shindo got a double dose of medication for high blood pressure after an emergency room visit in December.

4. for whom the heart beats ( Fullmetal Alchemist )

Roy tucks one last strand of hair into his slickback, and then he tries not to think too much as he walks out his front door. Now his head aches with suppression, but a few hours ago his head had been full of questions, the most important being whether he should be doing this at all and amongst the least important being which cologne he should wear. Of middle importance was the question of whether or not he should wear his uniform, and to that he decided 'yes' with a flip of the coin-- except the coin had come up tails, and by all means he should be in civilian dress about now, except you always know what you really wanted if you find regret in the landings of fate or chance. He saw tails and knew that was not how he wanted things to be.

Roy Mustang arrives exactly at the appointed time, not a minute early or late. He checks his teeth one more time, checks that the car seat next to him is clean, and pulls plain white gloves over his ugly, scarred hands. He exits his car and makes sure that the door shuts audibly but does not slam. He adjusts his grip on the flower bouquet that the girl in the shop tried to put a ribbon on, and then he takes measured strides up to the front door. He knocks three times and waits.

She answers without haste and is polite enough to not look too terribly surprised by the flowers. Instead she takes them graciously and invites him in for just one moment so she can put them in water. He stands in the hall and averts his eyes from the pictures on the wall. He can't help but to notice, however, that the pictures on the side table have gone. Did she hem and haw and wonder what would be too much of an insult, what would be too uncomfortable, what would be too overt, what would be inappropriate? Did she, like him, toss coins and was she, like him, dissatisfied with fate? --beyond the obvious, of course.

He forgot to look at her hands. Is she wearing her ring? Does he want to know?

He doesn't pluck up the courage to check until they are ordering salads at the restaurant and she folds her hands on top of the table. Maybe she wants him to look-- and maybe she wants to encourage him; she is not wearing the ring.

...zeldaaaaaaNO BE STRONG

ALSO working on that Digimon thing for anonymous-- OMG I AM SORRY ANON, are you still lurking around? XD --and the next part of Virtuous Men. They just don't have anything coherent/interesting enough to warrant previews as of yet. :P
