But Akira just continues to stare, like he's never seen anything quite like Hikaru. Well, Hikaru has never seen anything quite like Akira, either.
Akira gently takes it in his own warm hand, a hand with a soft palm but rough fingers. Hikaru tries not to gasp aloud as a sudden intensity chokes the air, a blue aura surrounding the boy in front of him. Akira's eyes are incredibly scary when he's like this-- scarier, somehow, than other Nexts Hikaru has met. Akira runs those rough fingertips over all of Hikaru's sensitive, smooth fingers, palm, and wrist. Something flips pleasantly in Hikaru's belly; startled, he whips his hand away but can't fight down his blush.
Typical Hikaru - enthusiastic and flippant and a bit embarassing to watch :D and typical Akira dedicated and serious and Akira extends his hand, invitation and challenge in one.

I love how you combined an HnG interaction with Tiger and Bunny elements. Very clever, I think:) There is no such thing as too much thought;)
I'm caught speculating about how the team of Akira and Hikaru would function - they'll have to constantly be in touch with other Nexts and plan what powers to take - so much room for battle tactics, yum<3
