I have to be straight with you, I was having just about the worst day ever before this, and was not expecting anything in particular when I clicked the link. I didn't even read the summary. The first line was a surprise: oh! It's about Tomoe! and then I started smiling.
Everything about this is well-chosen for the purpose of the story. Filling in all these gaps about their lives is great. The scene with Ben's rescue just about left me laughing out loud at my desk over a bowl of soup, and all the tension before that was making me grit my teeth. I guess what really gets me is how strong and physical a reaction this inspired for me. You got to me, and in a really good way.
What originally drew me to Tiger and Bunny fandom was expressly the bittersweet nature of his relationship with Tomoe, and how things have clearly changed since she left. I want to see fanfics about their life together, but haven't been able to level a fair complaint that fandom focuses elsewhere most of the time. I am DELIGHTED that you chose to tackle these things, including the good times and the bad and the scary.
Death is depressing to me and to be honest, I'm a little misty-eyed and sad because of the ending, but that's how it ought to be, I think, at least in response to the story. I really loved the foot-worship of the shoe scene. That, combined with the post-proposal sex scene, was just steamy and classy all at once in all the right ways.
I hope you'll write more things that I will be about to read. I like your style.
