Things had been mostly slow on Kotetsu’s retirement, but most certainly not on Halloween’s Eve.
He’d spent an insane amount of time decorating the house and the yard under Kaede’s strict command.
She was already disguised as a very cute vampire, and her new favorite comic book said that werewolves were enslaved by the superior vampire race, thus Kotetsu’s wolf-eared ensemble, a lot more elaborate than his costume last year.
Done with the spider webs, Kotetsu seriously considered a beer or two, but the train of thought was crashed by a sudden commotion by the front door.
“Barnaby!” Kaede shouted, practically hanging on Bunny. Kotetsu’s Mom was smiling, readjusting her apron.
“What are you doing here?” Kotetsu asked doubfoundedly, slowly taking in a pair of pink, fluffy bunny ears on top of Bunny’s head.
“It’s my Halloween costume,” Bunny informed him matter-of-factly and only a tiniest bit defensively. When he turned around, Kotetsu noticed a matching bunny tail.
