Aw, this is finally finished, and you tied it together so perfectly. <3
I really, really loved this fic. I always liked Shirley, but it was always in a rather shallow "oh, she's a nice girl" kind of way, but you made me appreciate character her more in this fic. I liked how cheerful and outgoing she was toward Suzaku when befriending him. And, although she initially didn't like Lelouch very much, I like how she was able to open up her heart toward him. I really liked those small gestures of kindness, like when Shirley was stroking Lelouch's hair near the end. Very nice. <3
Like others said, I like how you incorporated Geass into this from Shirley's POV. It was a unique portrayal, and it kept me on the edge of my seat because Shirley was also finding out new things...but never quite piecing it together.
I teared up a little at the end. Even though Shirley had a typical teenage girl type crush on Suzaku, she also cared about him a lot. And, in the end, I think Lelouch mattered to her quite a bit as well. The fact that her memories were erased is pretty heartbreaking, but it definitely makes narrative sense.
...Now I totally need to read Decayed. I can never do anything in order. XD
